CAP Summer Series: Clayton Stephenson

Pianist Clayton Stephenson brings classical virtuosity and expressive storytelling to Coral Gables as part of the annual CAP Summer Concert Series. CAP Summer Series: Clayton Stephenson takes place Thursday, August 6 at Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ. Stephenson is the first Black finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and has also been recognized as a Gilmore Young Artist and Young Scholar of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation.

Known for performances that combine technical command with dramatic and lyrical nuance, Stephenson brings a recital program shaped by precision, color and narrative depth. Gramophone has described him as “not just a remarkable virtuoso, but a poet, a dramatist, and a master storyteller.”

Presented by the Community Arts Program, the performance is part of a summer series that has brought classical and jazz artists to Coral Gables since 1985. Concerts take place at Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, a Spanish Revival-style church located across from the Biltmore Hotel.
