Carrousel of Hearts

Opera, zarzuela and romantic storytelling come together in a staged concert about love, jealousy and reconciliation. Carrousel of Hearts takes place Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26 at Sanctuary of the Arts in Coral Gables. Presented by Fine Arts of Miami, the production blends live, unamplified vocals with a light dramatic framework built around couples spending an evening at the fair.

The performance follows pairs of lovers as they navigate heartbreak, longing and renewed affection through a sequence of operatic and zarzuela selections. The program draws on familiar works such as “La donna è mobile” and “No puede ser,” using the expressive range of the human voice to move between humor, drama and emotional reflection.

Also known as Carrusel de Corazones, the production offers an accessible introduction to opera and zarzuela through a narrative shaped by romance, theatrical color and musical variety.
