Concertazo in the Summer

Opera, zarzuela, musical theater and operetta come together in a cross-genre concert at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Coral Gables. Concertazo in the Summer takes place Saturday, August 15, presented by Caro Entertainment. The one-night program features vocalist and performer Maylu Hernandez with guest artists in a selection of works drawn from lyrical and theatrical traditions.

Hernandez is a Cuban-born singer, dancer and musical theater performer whose repertoire spans opera, zarzuela, operetta and Broadway-style productions. A graduate of Havana’s National School of Music Shows, she has performed lead roles in works including Cabaret, The Merry Widow, La Corte del Faraón and Evita, and has continued her theatrical work in South Florida through Caro Entertainment.

The concert is designed as a community performance highlighting vocal music across several stage traditions, from classical and Spanish-language repertoire to musical theater selections.
