Count it all Joy!: Opening Reception

Painting, sculpture, textiles, sound and interactive installations come together in a group exhibition centered on joy, rest and connection. Count it all Joy! opens Thursday, July 16 at Green Space Miami with an evening reception featuring drinks, music and light bites. Curated by Donnamarie Baptiste and Arsimmer McCoy, the exhibition brings together Miami-based and locally connected artists working across a range of media.

The participating artists include Christopher Mitchell, Clarence Josey II, Destyni Swoope, Dimitry Chamy, Genesis Moreno, Germane Barnes, Jason Aponte, Jed-Lee Metayer, Maggie Steber, MaiYap, Marcus Torbert, Michelle Drummond, Shamar Watt, Sophie Wong and Sydney Maubert. Their works explore joy not only as an emotion, but as a source of comfort, reflection and shared experience.

The opening reception invites guests to view the exhibition in a social setting and wear something that brings them joy. Through its mix of visual, sonic and participatory works, the exhibition considers how moments of peace, beauty and community can take shape during uncertain times.
