An exhibition celebrating the Queen of Salsa’s iconic style transforms a downtown Miami hotel gallery into a cultural hub for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Dancing Shoes: A Legacy in Motion is on view October 6-28 at the InterContinental Miami, presented by the MIAMI Shoe Museum in collaboration with the Celia Cruz Foundation and collaboARTive’s Noche de Arte program. Curated by museum founder Luis Valenzuela, the show highlights Celia Cruz’s bold cantilever shoes, designed by Nieto in the 1960s and 70s and worn by the legendary singer throughout her life. Alongside these originals, the exhibition debuts the winning entries from the MIAMI Vibes 2.0: AI Footwear Design Challenge, where international designers reimagined Cruz’s signature style through AI-assisted design.
The month-long program builds on collaboARTive’s partnership with InterContinental Miami, which has hosted Noche de Arte since 2022, and reflects the organization’s mission to empower artists through community, visibility and creative opportunity.
