Daniela Padrón: Bach to Venezuela
Mar 07, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A vibrant musical tribute bridges Baroque tradition and Venezuelan folklore in a special anniversary performance by Latin Grammy-winning violinist Daniela Padrón.
Taking place Saturday, March 7, this concert marks ten years of Bach to Venezuela, the genre-defying project that launched Padrón’s international career. The program reimagines works by Johann Sebastian Bach through the rhythmic and melodic language of Venezuelan folk traditions, including joropo, gaita and merengue, creating a dynamic fusion of classical form and Latin American expression. With the violin at the center, Padrón is joined by an ensemble featuring Venezuelan cuatro, ethnic percussion and bass, highlighting the emotional range and cross-cultural dialogue that define the project.
Born in Caracas and based in Miami, Daniela Padrón has earned wide recognition for her innovative approach to classical and folkloric music. She is the recipient of the 2025 Latin Grammy Award for Best Folk Album and has performed extensively across the United States, captivating audiences with performances that balance technical mastery, cultural storytelling and bold reinterpretation.
Presented by the Spanish Cultural Center of Miami (CCEMiami) and Miami-Dade County Auditorium in collaboration with the Roxy Theatre Group, this performance is part of Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series, which brings dance, music and theater to venues across South Florida during the auditorium’s renovation period.
