Artistic responses to the natural environment connect works by Deering Estate’s 2026 artists-in-residence. Deering Contemporary Phase 1: Aquatics, Miniatures and Microscopics is on view November 20, 2026 through January 24, 2027 on the first floor of the Richmond Cottage.
The exhibition brings together practices developed through a residency program that connects art with the estate’s ecological resources, supporting experimentation, environmental advocacy and preservation. Participating artists are Andrea Clement, Deryn Cowdy, Giannina Dwin, Tony Fernandez, Natalia Garcia-Lee, Debora Rosental, Lissette Schaeffler, Rebekah Shoaf and Aida Tejada.
An opening reception takes place Sunday, December 6 from 2 to 5 p.m., with free admission by RSVP. Regular exhibition viewing is included with estate admission: $18 for adults ages 15 and older and $10 for children ages 4–14. Admission is free for Deering Estate Foundation members and children younger than 4.
