From: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
A holiday weekend visit to Deering Estate offers outdoor time by Biscayne Bay, guided tours and access to sitewide history and nature experiences. Deering Estate’s 4th of July Celebration takes place Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, with reduced $8 general admission for ages 4 and up. Visitors can bring a picnic, walk the grounds beneath the Royal Palm trees and take in views of the bay from the historic Miami-Dade County Heritage Park.
Guided museum tours will be offered at 11:30 a.m., giving guests a closer look at the Estate’s historic houses and cultural context. Visitors can also view Family History is America’s Story: Tracing the Deering Family through Time, an America250-related exhibition presented in collaboration with the Genealogical Society of Greater Miami. The exhibition traces members of the Deering family across generations while connecting their story to broader American history from before the Revolutionary War through the present.
Admission is free for Deering Estate Foundation members, children 3 and under and eligible active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel with up to five family members through the Blue Star Museums program. Deering Estate is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no admission after 4 p.m.
