Ema Ri: This Too Shall Pass
Through Apr 04, 2026
weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
From: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Large-scale video, immersive sound and expansive wall drawings converge in a new solo exhibition by Miami-based artist Ema Ri at Locust Projects in Little River.
On view January 31 through April 4, This Too Shall Pass marks Ri’s first major large-scale solo presentation. Expanding their multidisciplinary practice, the exhibition incorporates video art alongside abstract wall drawings and sound works inspired by the natural world. Using unconventional materials to chart an emotional landscape, Ri explores themes of life, death and transformation while examining the subtle tension between the living world and the spirit world.
Drawing from personal experience and the enduring mysteries of nature, the exhibition considers the body and spirit in dialogue with unseen forces. The works invite both introspection and a broader reflection on humanity’s relationship to the environment. This Too Shall Pass is a Knight Digital Commission.
Ema Ri received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from the University of Florida at NWSA in 2017. Their solo exhibitions include To Live Without a Dying Sun at Fredric Snitzer Gallery (2025), In So Deep at Spinello Projects (2023) and Ouroboros at Dimensions Variable (2020), among others. Ri has participated in group exhibitions at institutions including MoCA North Miami, Oolite Arts and El Espacio 23, and is the recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium Grant and Oolite Arts’ Ellies Creator Award. They are represented by Fredric Snitzer Gallery in Miami.
