Emmet's Place Miami Live
Jan 26, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
A live jazz gathering shaped by spontaneity and top-tier musicianship brings the spirit of an intimate Harlem jam session to the concert hall. Led by pianist and composer Emmet Cohen, this Miami edition of Emmet’s Place translates the energy of his widely followed “Live from Emmet’s Place” sessions into an in-person performance rooted in collaboration and swing.
The evening features an expansive lineup of acclaimed artists and special guests, including trumpeter Sean Jones, clarinetist Anat Cohen, saxophonist Godwin Louis, bassist Philip Norris, vocalist Georgia Heers and drummers Kyle Poole and Herlin Riley, alongside pianist Shelly Berg. Known for its rotating cast and unrehearsed feel, the format allows musicians to respond in real time, blending standards, originals and unexpected musical turns.
Emmet’s Place Miami Live takes place Monday, January 26 at UM Gusman Concert Hall. The performance is part of the Frost School of Music’s Signature Events lineup for the 2025–2026 season and supports the Frost Jazz Studies department, reflecting the school’s emphasis on living jazz traditions and artist-driven exchange.
