Exhibition Opening Reception: Mohri, Pica, & Zapata
Sep 17, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Kinetic sound installations, participatory drawing and immersive textile environments introduce three distinct artistic approaches at The Bass in Miami Beach. The opening reception takes place Thursday, September 17 across the museum and The Rotunda, with featured artists Yuko Mohri, Amalia Pica and Sarah Zapata in attendance. The event marks the start of The Bass’s fall exhibition season.
In Unviolated Imperfection, Tokyo-based artist Yuko Mohri transforms everyday objects and natural processes into evolving systems of sound, light and movement. Lecturas Posibles turns The Rotunda into a chalkboard-painted library where visitors can draw and write on its surfaces, gradually reshaping Amalia Pica’s installation. Against a State of Malevolence brings together Sarah Zapata’s large-scale woven and tufted environments, which draw on architecture, Peruvian textile traditions and the physical experience of moving through art.
Admission is complimentary with an RSVP submitted by September 10. Capacity is limited and entry will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
