Expert Tour: Women Artists in the Lowe

Women artists spanning more than four centuries come into focus during a guided tour of the Lowe Art Museum’s permanent collection. The free program takes place Saturday, October 10, with docent Carol Millas tracing changing approaches to representation, identity and artistic practice from the Renaissance through the present day.

The tour highlights artists including Sofonisba Anguissola, Cindy Sherman and Helen Frankenthaler, whose works on paper will be on view for a limited time. Inspired in part by the feminist critique associated with the Guerrilla Girls, the program considers the visibility and contributions of women artists across different periods and media.
