Extreme Heat Workshop: Know the Risks
Aug 02, 2026
From: Noon to 1:00 PM
Practical heat-safety guidance comes to the Vizcaya Village Farmers Market during a free community workshop led by The CLEO Institute. The Extreme Heat Workshop takes place Sunday, July 19 at Vizcaya Village. The 60-minute session is designed to help attendees understand extreme heat risks and learn simple ways to protect themselves, their families and neighbors during periods of high temperatures.
The workshop covers the health impacts of extreme heat, who is most vulnerable and how rising temperatures can affect daily life. Participants will also learn how to recognize signs of heat-related illness, stay hydrated and prepare before, during and after heat events.
The first 35 attendees will receive $30 in Market Bucks, redeemable for eligible items such as fresh fruits and vegetables at the Vizcaya Village Farmers Market. The workshop is free and open to community members, families, educators, youth and others interested in building heat resilience.
