Family Day at The Underline ft. COOLTURE

An art- and music-filled morning designed for children and families takes over The Underline with hands-on activities, live storytelling, and movement-based programming.
Family Day at The Underline takes place Saturday, February 7 at Inter Grove Gallery, in collaboration with COOLTURE, an immersive cultural festival created specifically for kids and caregivers. The free event features three rotating activity stations focused on creative exploration through visual art, music, dance and storytelling. Upon arrival, participants receive a “Passport to Culture” to collect stamps at each station throughout the morning.
Programming includes Mini Maestros activities such as decorating percussion instruments, designing collages, crafting masks and creating personal flags. The Story and Sound Corner highlights bilingual Caribbean, Latin and African folktales paired with live acoustic music, while Movement Moment invites children to learn Latin- and Caribbean-inspired dance moves, participate in a kids’ dance workshop and close out with a community drumming circle. Fresh-squeezed juices from Froot Juice will be available for kids to enjoy between activities.
Inter Grove Gallery is located along The Underline near the Coconut Grove Metrorail station and is accessible by walking, biking, transit, rideshare or nearby parking. The Underline is fully wheelchair accessible. As an outdoor event, attendees are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, light snacks and weather-appropriate gear. In the event of significant rain or lightning, updates will be communicated by email prior to the program.
