FilmGate Horror Festival
Oct 28, 2026
From: 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM
Florida-made horror and thriller shorts take over Silverspot Cinema for FilmGate Miami’s annual October showcase of local genre filmmaking. Presented Wednesday, October 28, FilmGate Horror Festival combines screenings with filmmaker conversations, networking, a costume contest and an awards presentation.
The program features short films by Florida filmmakers or productions shot in the state, with each selected work running 20 minutes or less. The evening also includes FilmGate’s Percolator, a one-minute networking pitch for creatives, followed by a filmmaker Q&A and the presentation of the Best Film of the Night award by a jury of industry professionals.
A costume contest adds a Halloween element, with prizes including tickets to FilmGate’s year-end Best-of-Fest finale. The event is part of FilmGate Festival, the organization’s recurring short-film series highlighting Florida-based filmmakers, actors and production talent.
