FIU Brass Band

Enjoy an energizing evening of jazz performed by some of South Florida’s most promising young musicians in a scenic, oceanfront setting. Under the direction of trumpeter Omar Lateef, the FIU Brass Band brings a vibrant mix of classic jazz standards and innovative arrangements to the stage, highlighting the depth and versatility of brass performance.

This free concert takes place on Sunday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m. in Lummus Park, between 14th Street and 14th Place, as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series. Featuring musicians from the FIU Jazz Big Band and University Brass Choir, the program offers a fresh take on traditional jazz while exploring contemporary interpretations that appeal to listeners of all ages.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy this open-air performance. In case of rain, the concert will be held at The Betsy Hotel. The series is presented by the Ocean Drive Association and supported by the City of Miami Beach and the GMCVB.
