FIU Music Festival: Baltimore Consort
Oct 31, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Songs, dances and consort music from Shakespeare’s era are reimagined in The Food of Love – Songs, Dances & Fancies for Shakespeare, performed by the Baltimore Consort at FIU Music Festival 2025. The ensemble’s colorful mix of lute, cittern, viols and flute accompanies soprano Danielle Svonavec in settings of It Was a Lover and His Lass, Where the Bee Sucks, Full Fathom Five and The Willow Song.
Instrumental pieces and lively dances related to the Bard’s plays round out the program, showcasing the group’s spirited approach and historically informed style. Since its founding in 1980, the Baltimore Consort has toured internationally and established itself as one of the leading American ensembles specializing in early music.
FIU Music Festival 2025: Baltimore Consort takes place Friday, October 31 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
