FIU Music Festival: Echoes of Spain, Noelia Cotuna
Oct 29, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Spanish and Spanish-inspired music come to life in Echoes of Spain, a recital by harpist Noelia Cotuna as part of FIU Music Festival 2025. The program moves from the elegance of Mateo Albéniz’s Sonata en Re mayor to the fiery rhythms of Albéniz’s Leyenda (Asturias), with works by Guridi, Debussy, de Falla and Rodrigo highlighting diverse regional styles.
Rodrigo’s Impromptu for Harp, written as a tribute to Cotuna’s hometown of Sagunto, is among the program’s featured works with the evening concluding on a Spanish encore. Cotuna is a prize-winning Spanish harpist who began studying at age six, earned her Bachelor of Music with First-Class Honours from Trinity Laban in London, and holds the principal harp position at the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.
FIU Music Festival 2025: Echoes of Spain, Noelia Cotuna takes place Wednesday, October 29 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
