Full Moon Over Miami River Cruise
May 30, 2026
From: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
An evening boat tour along the Miami River explores the city’s past under the light of the full moon. The Full Moon Over Miami River Cruise takes place Saturday, May 30., departing from the Island Queen docks at Bayside Marketplace.
Led by HistoryMiami Museum Resident Historian Dr. Paul S. George, the narrated cruise traces the layered history of downtown Miami’s waterfront. As the boat travels along the river, participants will hear stories about the Tequesta people who first inhabited the area, early settlers who established communities along the riverbanks and the archaeological sites and neighborhoods that reveal Miami’s early development.
Dr. George, a Miami native, author and former college professor, is widely known for his engaging tours and deep knowledge of South Florida’s history. For more than three decades, his walking, coach and boat tours have introduced audiences to the people, places and stories that shaped the region.
Water and soda service are included with the ticket, and additional light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase onboard through Island Queen Cruises. Guests will board a two-deck vessel offering both air-conditioned indoor seating and an open-air upper deck for views of the river and city skyline.
