Grease at Rooftop Cinema Club

Rooftop moviegoing meets 1950s high school nostalgia with an outdoor screening of Grease in South Beach. The screening takes place Thursday, July 9 at 7:15 p.m. at Rooftop Cinema Club South Beach, where guests can watch the classic movie musical from reserved outdoor seating. Released in 1978, the film stars John Travolta as Danny Zuko and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson, former summer sweethearts who unexpectedly reunite at Rydell High.

Directed by Randal Kleiser and based on the stage musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease pairs teen romance with rock ’n’ roll, doo-wop and dance numbers. The film’s soundtrack includes enduring songs such as “Summer Nights,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re the One That I Want” and “Greased Lightnin’.”
