Heat Exchange Convening

Artists and curators from Miami and Norway gather at YoungArts for two days of conversations on collaboration, cultural exchange and the systems that support artistic practice. Presented by Bas Fisher Invitational (BFI) on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, the inaugural Heat Exchange Convening combines panel discussions, artist presentations and breakout sessions focused on cultural ecosystems, resources, artist-run initiatives and the role of artists within arts infrastructure.

The program grows out of Heat Exchange, BFI’s reciprocal residency with UKS (Unge Kunstneres Samfund/Young Artists’ Society) in Oslo, which brings Miami artists to Norway and Norwegian artists to Miami. Convening participants will reflect on their residency experiences while considering how artists who organize, teach, advocate and build institutions can form connections across borders.

A light brunch and catered lunch are provided on both days. Discounted registration is available for artists.
