Hedwig And The Angry Inch: A Glam Rock Movie Experience

Glam rock, live performance and audience participation surround a 25th-anniversary screening of the cult musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Las Rosas in Allapattah. Presented Sunday, August 23, by Miami Moviegoers and Hexed Miami, the evening features live sets by Ursa Arcana and Madonovan before the film, with Day of Hexed Miami hosting.

Released in 2001, Hedwig and the Angry Inch was adapted from the stage musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask and follows East German rock singer Hedwig through a story of music, identity, love and reinvention. The Miami screening expands on the film’s glam-rock spirit with interactive elements and a costume contest, inviting audiences to engage with the movie beyond the screen.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m. The first 50 attendees receive gift bags with props for use during the screening, while popcorn and themed cocktails will be available for purchase.
