History of Art: Cubism, Abstraction and Bauhaus

A Spanish-language lecture traces the ideas and artists behind Cubism, abstraction and Bauhaus at the Doral Cultural Arts Center. Taking place Thursday, October 8, the program is part of the City of Doral’s recurring History of Art series, with each installment focusing on a different period or movement.

Led by William Alonso, the session examines Cubism, Lyrical Abstraction, Geometric Abstraction and the Bauhaus through figures including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian and Walter Gropius. The discussion considers how these movements reshaped approaches to perspective, color, form, architecture and modern design.

The lecture is presented entirely in Spanish and is open to all ages.
