From: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Uncover the layered history of one of Miami’s most architecturally distinct neighborhoods in this installment of HistoryMiami Museum’s History Talks series. Miami’s Boom Era Communities—Miami Shores takes place on Wednesday, September 3 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and explores the early vision and development of this bayfront village once promoted as “America’s Mediterranean.”
Hosted by the museum’s Resident Historian, Dr. Paul S. George, the talk features a conversation with Miami Shores community member and Brockway Memorial Library archivist John Bachay. Together, they’ll trace the legacy of the Shoreland Company, examine the area’s Mediterranean Revival architecture and reflect on how the community has evolved since the boom era. Seating is first-come, first-served and capacity is limited.
