Hub City Stompers Live At Churchills

Ska, reggae, punk and rocksteady take over Churchill’s Pub for a Little Haiti show led by New Jersey’s Hub City Stompers. Presented by Florida Ska Events, the 21+ concert takes place Saturday, July 25, from 8 p.m. to midnight. The lineup also features Miami bands Fuàkata! and The Big Skandal, with DJ Felipe Skandal.
Formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2002, Hub City Stompers draws from multiple eras of ska while incorporating reggae, punk, oi!, hardcore, hip-hop, jazz and other influences. The band has released multiple albums and toured nationally and internationally, building a sound that moves beyond traditional ska formulas.
The local bill adds two Miami-rooted acts to the night. Fuàkata! blends ska, hardcore, reggae and punk rock with Miami flavor, while The Big Skandal channels traditional ska and rocksteady influences alongside later sounds associated with The Specials, Operation Ivy and Madness. Tickets are $20.
