Invitation to Openness
Through Nov 08, 2026
weekly on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
From: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
An immersive listening room at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU explores the role of collaboration in shaping musical communities and creative exchange. On view from May 2 through November 8, Invitation to Openness is presented in dialogue with the exhibition David C. Driskell & Friends, expanding its themes into a sound-based environment.
The installation traces how musicians working together have fostered innovation, improvisation and shared artistic vision across genres and generations. Through curated audio selections and a dedicated listening space, the project invites visitors to engage with music as a collective and evolving practice.
Presented as part of the museum’s interdisciplinary programming, the installation offers a contemplative complement to the visual art on display.
