Jazz lovers won't want to miss a free concert by acclaimed musician John Daversa at Liberty Plaza in Collins Park on Saturday, September 21. This performance is part of the Liberty Plaza Jazz Series, presented by the Collins Park Neighborhood Association and the City of Miami Beach.

John Daversa is a multi-GRAMMY®-winning artist and Chair of Studio Music and Jazz at the Frost School of Music, with a career encompassing composing, arranging, producing and performing. Throughout his career, he's brought his distinctive musical talent to an array of global stages, including The Today Show, Late Nite with David Letterman, The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Monterey Jazz Festival. He has also collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists, including Fiona Apple, Michael Bublé, Sheryl Crow, Herbie Hancock and The Yellowjackets. In 1996, Daversa founded the John Daversa Big Band. His group is considered a leading force in modern jazz, with their album Junk Wagon: The Big Band Album winning multiple awards and critical acclaim.
