Joined at the Roots: The Haitian & American Bond
Through Aug 30, 2025
Explore the shared stories of resilience and cultural connection through a group art exhibition that highlights the historical and ongoing ties between Haitian and Black American communities.
Joined at the Roots: The Haitian & Black American Bond, on view from May 3 to August 30 at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, is presented by the Miami Urban Contemporary Experience (MUCE) as part of the center’s Haitian Heritage Month programming. The exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists working across painting, sculpture and photography to explore themes of identity, resistance and unity.
Participating artists include Nate Dee, Ruth Louissaint, Joe Wesley, Nica Sweet, Fabienne Polycarpe, Ed Waffle, Tawana Dixon, Rico Melvin Costoso Jr., Anthony Lumpkin, Goodwin Ferrier, Oscar Martinez and Azizi Desouza. Each contributes a unique visual narrative, creating space for reflection on the cultural bridges that continue to shape shared experiences across generations.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular hours at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.
