Listening Party: Interpol “This Mirror Weighs a Ton”
Aug 20, 2026
From: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Interpol fans can hear the band’s forthcoming album This Mirror Weighs a Ton in full before its official release during a listening party at Sweat Records in Little Haiti. Taking place Thursday, August 20, the event offers an advance listen to the group’s first new album in four years, ahead of its August 28 release.
Emerging from New York’s early-2000s post-punk revival, Interpol became one of the era’s defining indie-rock bands with the 2002 debut Turn on the Bright Lights. Their sound pairs taut, atmospheric guitar work and prominent bass lines with Paul Banks’ distinctive baritone, an approach that helped shape the darker edge of 21st-century post-punk.
This Mirror Weighs a Ton will play from start to finish during the two-hour session, with limited-edition merchandise available exclusively to attendees. Guests will also have an opportunity to preorder a red-vinyl edition of the record.
