From: 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Operatic arias, art songs, zarzuela and musical theater come together in a season-opening concert featuring three vocalists, piano and ballet at All Souls Episcopal Church. Held Saturday, October 24, the program brings soprano María Aleida Rodríguez, tenor Jesús Daniel Hernandez and vocalist Isaac Rodríguez together with pianist Matías Cuevas for selections ranging from Rossini, Bellini and Puccini to Agustín Lara and Leonard Bernstein.
Rodríguez, who has performed with Andrea Bocelli, and Hernandez, who has appeared with Plácido Domingo, lead a program that includes arias from Lakmé, La sonnambula, Tosca and La Traviata, along with songs by Tosti and Latin American repertoire. Isaac Rodríguez joins them for works including “O Sole Mio,” “Granada” and “Tonight” from West Side Story.
Presented by Artistic Voices, the concert also features a special guest appearance by Gerardo Ortega with ballet and concludes with the trio performing “Libiamo ne’ lieti calici” from Verdi’s La Traviata.
