Mainly Mozart Festival 2026: From Haffner to Shakespeare
May 15, 2026
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Violinist William Hagen and pianist Marina Radiushina open the 2026 edition of the Mainly Mozart Festival with a recital spanning Mozart’s classical elegance, Romantic drama and theatrical works for violin and piano. Presented by the Miami Chamber Music Society, the performance takes place Friday, May 15 at the Knight Center for Music Innovation at the University of Miami.
Hagen, a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, has appeared with major ensembles including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and San Francisco Symphony, and has performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall and the Louvre. He is joined by Radiushina, the festival’s Artistic Director, a pianist noted for her interpretive depth and command of style.
The program opens with Mozart’s Violin Sonata in A major, K. 305, followed by works by Fritz Kreisler, including Liebesleid, Caprice Viennois and Rondo on Mozart’s “Haffner” Serenade. Korngold’s Suite from Much Ado About Nothing adds a theatrical dimension, while Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 3 in C minor brings Romantic intensity to the evening. Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso closes the recital with lyrical, virtuosic writing.
