Miami Coral Club

Coral reef science, underwater imagery and music come together for the launch of a new monthly gathering at Gramps Getaway on Virginia Key. Held Thursday, October 22, the inaugural Miami Coral Club introduces visitors to Miami’s reef ecosystems through visual installations, informal educational programming and opportunities to connect with Coral Morphologic.

Founded in 2007 by marine biologist Colin Foord and musician Jared McKay, Coral Morphologic combines art and marine science to document and study Miami’s urban corals. The evening features imagery from Coral Morphologic and its Coral City Camera, an underwater livestream documenting marine life along an urban reef near PortMiami.

Miami rock band Jacuzzi Boys provides DJ sets throughout the evening, with an extended happy hour and a Coral Morphologic photo backdrop also part of the program. Visitors can sign up for Miami Coral Club membership, while inaugural membership swag bags and preorders for the 2027 Coral City Camera calendar will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
