Miami DanceMakers: Revisited
Nov 07, 2026
Nov 7: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM | Nov 8: 3:30 PM
Cultural inheritance, human connection and the uncertainties of memory shape three new contemporary dance works commissioned by The Moss Center. Presented Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 in Cutler Bay, Miami DanceMakers: Revisited showcases choreography by program alumni Nicole Pedraza, Junior Domingos and Giovanni Castellon.
The program includes:
- Nicole Pedraza’s Calor Eterno: Three dancers explore the tension between immigrant families’ expectations and younger generations’ efforts to establish their identities while maintaining ancestral connections. Nostalgic Spanish songs, a live score by Dani F. Amaro and surreal visual design by Diago León Lang accompany the work.
- Junior Domingos’ E.C.H.O.: Five dancers examine trust, connection and transformation through duets, shifting shadows and the interplay of light and movement. The Brazilian choreographer also performs in the ensemble, with music composed and produced by Dani F. Amaro and Diego Melgar.
- Giovanni Castellon’s Time Lapse: The Cuban American choreographer uses abstract movement to convey the disorientation experienced by people living with dementia and the loved ones around them. The ensemble work features an original score by Anthony Josep and costumes by Haydee Morales.
Founded by Adele Myers, Miami DanceMakers is an annual six-month program supporting Miami dance artists through commissions, mentorship and performance opportunities. The Moss Center’s Revisited initiative extends that support through additional funding and presentations of alumni work.
