Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival
The inaugural Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival comes to the Bill Cosford Cinema in Coral Gables offering four days of documentaries, shorts and feature films that celebrate Indigenous culture, history and storytelling.
The festival opens Friday night with opening ceremonies and a screening of "Nunkui." Saturday and Sunday each feature three screening blocks at 3 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., with highlights including "Alligator Alcatraz," "Moonbound: An Ancestral Passage," "When Fire Turns to Ash," "Raised by the Canoe," "Ice, Stone, Spirit: Uncovering the Stories of Yellowstone's First People" and "Breakpoint: The Untold Story of the Constitution Express." The festival closes Monday with a special screening of "Becoming Buffalo" and an awards ceremony.
