Afro-Cuban folk dance and live percussion come together in an interactive movement workshop at the Freedom Tower in downtown Miami. MOAD Moves: Marisol Blanco and the Sikan Afro-Cuban Dance Project takes place Saturday, April 4 in the Knight Skylight Gallery, inviting participants to explore traditional dance forms rooted in Afro-Cuban cultural and spiritual practices.
Led by choreographer and educator Marisol Blanco and accompanied by three live percussionists, the session guides participants through movements that connect rhythm, storytelling and cultural heritage. The experience emphasizes embodied learning, offering insight into how music and dance function together within Afro-Cuban traditions.
