MOCA Artists and Curator Tours
Dec 06, 2025
Starting: 11:00 AM
During Miami Art Week, MOCA invites the public to take part in its annual guided tours, offering an in-depth look at the creative vision behind its featured exhibitions. These tours provide visitors with the unique opportunity to hear directly from artists and curators, gaining meaningful insight into the concepts and inspirations that shape their work.
This year’s program highlights two captivating exhibitions. Diana Eusebio: Field of Dreams offers a deeply personal reflection on home, heritage, and belonging. Drawing from her Afro-Dominican and Indigenous Quechua Peruvian roots, the South Florida–based artist uses natural dyes, textiles, and digital media to celebrate ancestral traditions and the enduring connections between place and memory. The exhibition’s title—borrowed from the 1989 baseball film—evokes themes of faith, perseverance, and the immigrant experience, echoing the artist’s own journey of building a new home in a new land.
Hiba Schahbaz: The Garden presents the first major retrospective of the Pakistani-American artist, spanning more than fifteen years of her exploration of femininity, spirituality, and mythology. Inspired by the idea of the jannat or “Paradise Garden,” the exhibition unfolds as a lush, imagined world where allegory and nature intertwine. Through these dreamlike environments, Schahbaz invites audiences into a space of contemplation, beauty, and connection that bridges cultural and spiritual traditions across the globe.
