MOCA Book Club: The House on Mango Street

Literature and art come together at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, as the MOCA Book Club hosts a community discussion inspired by themes of belonging, identity and home.

In partnership with the 2025 NEA Big Read Miami, this session centers on Sandra Cisneros’ acclaimed novel The House on Mango Street, a coming-of-age story exploring cultural identity and the search for self within community. The discussion complements MOCA’s exhibition Diana Eusebio: Field of Dreams, which reflects on cultural preservation, ancestral memory and the connection between people and place through textiles and natural materials.

Participants are invited to RSVP and pick up a free copy of The House on Mango Street, available in English and Spanish, while supplies last, at MOCA’s visitor services desk. The event takes place Sunday, January 25, presented as part of the 2025 NEA Big Read Miami in partnership with the NEA, Arts Midwest and MOCA.
