MOCA Legacy Series: Language as Archive
Apr 11, 2026
Starting: 1:00 PM
A poetry workshop exploring personal history as a form of archive invites participants to reflect on place, memory and identity at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. Part of MOCA’s Legacy Series, the program is led by cultural worker and interdisciplinary artist Arsimmer McCoy.
Taking place Saturday, April 11, Language as Archive centers on McCoy’s poem Miami’s Atlas, which uses narrative to document the people, locations and experiences that have shaped her artistic practice. Participants will engage with the work before creating their own poems, drawing on personal and collective histories.
The session concludes with contributions compiled into a collaborative zine, offering a shared record of the workshop’s creative output and perspectives.
