MOCA Makers: Alchemy of Scent - The Art of Aromatic Smoke

Fragrance, memory and botanical materials come together in a hands-on incense-making workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. Taking place Saturday, October 10, Alchemy of Scent: The Art of Aromatic Smoke is led by multidisciplinary artist and botanical perfumer Emmy N. Etienne, who introduces participants to incense traditions that have developed across cultures over thousands of years.

Using natural materials such as frankincense, myrrh, woods, herbs, spices and florals, participants will explore scent as a form of creative expression and sensory connection. Each person will set an intention and create handmade incense cones to take home.

Etienne is the founder of ByME Botanical Aromatics and Sun & Snaps, with a practice spanning photography, fragrance, storytelling and creative wellness. Space is limited, and reserved seats will be held for 15 minutes after the workshop begins.
