MOCA Makers: Still Life Painting with Patricia Monclus
Oct 11, 2025
Starting: 1:00 PM
A hands-on painting workshop invites participants to explore color and composition through the lens of still life.
MOCA Makers: Still Life Painting with Patricia Monclús takes place Saturday, October 11 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. This edition draws inspiration from Gateway (between the sun and moon), Magnus Sodamin’s Art on the Plaza installation, and uses a custom floral arrangement by Calma Floral as a focal point. Participants will experiment with observation, composition and painterly techniques to create vibrant works of their own.
The workshop is led by Miami-based artist Patricia Monclús, whose practice spans painting, animation and installation to examine how symbols shape meaning. Raised between Colombia, Spain, and Los Angeles, she has exhibited at CIFO, Mindy Solomon Gallery, Coral Contemporary, FARxWIDE and Homework Gallery, with her first solo exhibition Pico Radial presented at Swenson Gallery in 2025. A resident artist at Bakehouse Art Complex since 2018, Monclús is also active in arts education, working with institutions such as The Bass Museum and PACE Center for Girls.
Open to all skill levels, the workshop provides materials and instruction in acrylic painting techniques.
