A festival of historically informed performance highlights music from the Baroque era alongside newer works in a three-concert series at the Adrienne Arsht Center.
Mostly Baroque opens Thursday, February 26 with J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 2, 3 and 4 and Telemann’s Don Quichotte suite. On Friday, February 27, rising concert artist Johan Hartman performs Finzi’s Let Us Garlands Bring and Jacques Ibert’s Don Quixote songs, alongside selections from his debut album Blood and the Moon. The series concludes Sunday, March 1 with Pergolesi’s comic opera La Serva Padrona, presented by Mostly Baroque with Hartman and Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai.
Founded in 1997, the Miami-based ensemble is dedicated to historically informed performances of composers such as Bach, Handel and Vivaldi. Their programming often pairs cornerstone Baroque repertoire with rarely heard works, offering South Florida audiences fresh perspectives on the period’s music.
Tickets go on public sale September 19.
