Museum of Miami Fourth of July Celebration
Jul 04, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Founding documents, family activities and Miami history come together for a free Independence Day gathering in Downtown Miami. Museum of Miami Fourth of July Celebration takes place Saturday, July 4, marking both America’s 250th anniversary and Miami’s 130th year. The event centers on Freedom Plane: Documents that Forged a Nation, a traveling exhibition from the National Archives featuring historic documents and artifacts connected to the nation’s founding.
Museum of Miami is one of eight museums selected to host the exhibition, which includes items such as the Treaty of Paris and other materials that shaped the early United States. The Fourth of July program gives visitors a chance to view the exhibition while taking part in a broader community celebration.
The day’s activities include a live reading by the winner of the museum’s oratory contest, music, children’s activities and food vendors. Admission is free with required registration.
