Negroni Trio: Flamenco Meets Latin Jazz
Feb 07, 2026
Starting: 08:00 PM
An intimate concert blends flamenco dance, Latin jazz and chamber-style musicianship in a cross-cultural performance rooted in rhythm and improvisation.
Negroni Trio: Flamenco Meets Latin Jazz takes place on Saturday, February 7 at the Koubek Center. Led by pianist and composer José Negroni, the program brings together Negroni’s Trío with saxophonist Ed Calle, flamenco dancers María Mercedes “La Merche” and José Junco, and the voice of cantaor Salvador de Ángela.
The performance explores the expressive intersections of flamenco and jazz through original compositions and improvisation, combining piano-driven melodies with percussive footwork, dance accents and vocal tradition. Known for its refined, chamber-like sound, the Negroni Trio features José Negroni and Nomar Negroni, whose collaboration emphasizes dialogue between classical technique and contemporary Latin jazz.
Presented as part of the Miami-Dade County Auditorium’s Away From Home Series, the concert is part of an ongoing program of off-site performances at partner venues while the Auditorium undergoes renovations.
