Noche De Arte: Nelson Alvarez

Cuban-born architect and photographer Nelson Alvarez works live at Gallery 100 throughout September as part of Noche de Arte, collaboARTive’s long-running weekly art series at InterContinental Miami. Held every Monday evening, the free program invites visitors to watch the creative process unfold while engaging directly with the featured artist. Light bites and a hands-on collage activity add an informal, participatory element to each gathering.

Alvarez brings a background in architecture, photography and urban planning to his residency. He studied architecture in Havana and later earned a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Venice, where he lived and worked for more than a decade.

Presented by collaboARTive, Noche de Arte is designed to reduce the distance between artists and audiences by combining live artmaking, conversation and creative participation in a relaxed gallery setting.
