Noir Week Miami

Crime fiction, true crime, film, theater and visual art converge at the Koubek Center during a three-day festival devoted to noir storytelling and its cultural contexts. Noir Week Miami returns for its second edition October 1–3 in Little Havana, with programming presented entirely in Spanish. The festival is organized by the Miami Book Fair, Narts Foundation and Koubek Center.

The opening evening connects literature, television and theater through a discussion of Dexter and Miami’s forensic landscape, followed by short theatrical works. Friday’s official opening brings live music, visual projections and improvisational theater to the Koubek Center gardens.

Saturday’s main program gathers writers, journalists and researchers from across the Americas and Spain for conversations on crime fiction, espionage, true crime and the social forces that shape representations of violence and justice. Featured topics include regional approaches to noir, the real events behind Iosi, el espía arrepentido, Susana Martín Gijón’s historical crime novel La capitana and investigative television.
