Opening Reception for Miami Plein Aire Exhibit

Outdoor landscapes and scenes captured directly from life fill the gallery at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center in an exhibition by the Miami Plein Aire artist group. Opening Saturday, September 19, the inaugural group exhibition showcases paintings created outdoors by artists working throughout South Florida and remains on view through October 23.

Founded by professional artists Jacqueline Roch and Lizzie Hunter, Miami Plein Aire brings artists together to paint on location, responding directly to changing light, atmosphere and the natural and built environments around them. The exhibition marks the completion of the group’s first year and connects its landscape-focused practice with the Biscayne Nature Center’s setting at Crandon Park on Key Biscayne.

The opening reception is free and open to the public.
