Opera on the Terrace

Light opera, Broadway selections and musical favorites are performed outdoors in a short summer concert series on The Betsy’s front terrace in Miami Beach. Opera on the Terrace takes place Saturday, June 20 and Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m., with each performance running approximately 30 minutes.

Presented as an annual summer program, the series features Miami Music Festival soloists in an informal oceanfront setting along Ocean Drive. The June 20 performance includes Miami-based tenor Gerardo José Ortega, Artistic Administrator of the Downtowner Concert Series and Director of Music at First United Methodist Church of Miami, whose performance credits include Miami Music Festival, Barry Opera Theatre, New World Opera Theatre and Carnegie Hall.

Guests may listen while dining at LT Steak & Seafood or enjoy the music from nearby public areas such as Ocean Drive and Lummus Park. The performances are free and open to the public. In case of rain, the program moves indoors to The Betsy Piano Bar.
