Our Shared Story: Reflections on America at 250

South Florida voices reflect on the meaning of America at 250 during a community conversation at Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ. Presented Monday, October 19 by the Books & Books Literary Foundation with the church, the program is the second installment of Our Shared Story, a four-event fall series examining varied American experiences in the context of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The panel features Sui Chung, executive director of Americans for Immigrant Justice; journalist and community historian Nadege Green, director of Community Research and Storytelling at Community Justice Project; and Ana Sofia Pelaez, founder and director of Miami Freedom Project for Democracy. The Rev. Dr. Laurinda Hafner, senior pastor of Coral Gables Congregational United Church of Christ, moderates the discussion.

The free program concludes with audience discussion and a catered reception. The first 50 attendees may also select a complimentary book related to the evening’s themes. RSVP is requested.
