From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
A free outdoor concert brings deep-pocket funk, soul and roots-driven grooves to The Moss Center as The Boneshakers headline this edition of Party on the Plaza. Known for their high-energy live shows and decades-long presence in American roots music, the band delivers a sound shaped by Detroit funk, Memphis soul and Muscle Shoals grit.
Led by guitarist Randy Jacobs of Was (Not Was), The Boneshakers have built a reputation as seasoned collaborators and road-tested performers, with members having shared stages and studios with artists including Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bootsy Collins, Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop. Their music balances tight rhythm sections with expressive guitar work and a deep reverence for classic soul and blues traditions.
The group’s most recent release, Live To Be This, debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart and topped blues radio charts in the UK, France and Germany. The album features guest appearances from Bobby Rush, Charlie Musselwhite, Coco Montoya, Don Was and others, reflecting the band’s long-standing ties to the roots and blues community.

Food, specialty cocktails and beverages will be available for purchase on site, along with prize giveaways throughout the evening.
