Apr 22, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to Noon
A wildlife presentation explores the care and conservation of South Florida’s native bird species through the work of a local rehabilitation center. Taking place Wednesday, April 22 at the Otto G. Richter Library at the University of Miami, the program is part of the university’s Earth Week programming.
Led by Amy Leonard of Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, the session provides an overview of the organization’s history and its role in rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife. The presentation highlights common causes of injury among seabirds and other native species, as well as the range of animals treated at the facility.
The program also outlines practical ways individuals can support local wildlife through everyday actions, offering a community-focused perspective on conservation efforts in South Florida.
